Simplicity

A simple interface hides complex feature-packed search options and provides visible feedback on the search criteria selected. The many search options work together to create compound searches such as "All QuarkXpress documents with the words 'product + specifications', modified this week - but not backed up".

Super-fast Text Search...

Long regarded as a benchmark for Text Search on the Macintosh, UltraFind's Text Search is highly flexible and accurate, and can search either in Direct Disk mode or Indexed mode, giving you the best of both worlds.

Alternatively, it can also search the internet ...giving you the best of THIS world.

...and cross-reference a built-in Thesaurus...

Another unique UltraFind feature, a built-in Thesaurus allows you to find documents containing related words. Were you looking for "Car" but the document had "Vehicle" or "Automobile"? With UltraFind you will find it anyway. Because YOU decide the relationship between words, you can use the Thesaurus to store your company's product codes, names, events or anything you like. Now you can search for "Power Macintosh" and UltraFind will get "7500", "8500" and "9500" as well.

On the internet UltraFind can send highly complex cross-referenced queries to the top two search engines: Excite (WWW) and DejaNews (Usenet).

Routines...

How many times each day do you have to open documents you worked on this morning or yesterday? UltraFind's unique Routines allow you to save search setups. You could simply make a Routine to always get the latest versions of your documents every time you press [control-1]... Or have UltraFind perform a complex internet search everytime you press [control-2], etc.

Flexibility with File Names...

You want the files called "Image" but only the ones ending in ".gif", and only if they start with "B-"? No problem:

...and File Types...

You want all your Excel files, all Photoshop TIFFs on your system, all email, all fonts on a CD-ROM, or even all fonts on your network? You can ask UltraFind for any type of Macintosh file - just select the type you need from it's menu.
