Text Indexer 2.0 is a free plug-in for UltraFind, recommended for indexing average-sized folders of documents only. It is NOT suitable for indexing hard disks or folders exceeding 50MB. If you need to index large amounts of data we advise you seek a professional indexing solution.

Text Indexer 2.0 is a modern indexing engine for Mac & PowerPC that pre-indexes your documents making text searches not just fast - but instant.

Designed to allow text searches with Context display (shows the actual sentences the words were found in), it indexes target sets of folders which can be anywhere - on your hard disk or network, or even on CD-ROMs or on off-line volumes.

Also unlike normal indexers, it can search on parts of words as well as whole words, is highly accurate (will never produce false hits), and will index all languages - including Japanese.

Version 2.0 allows you to restrict the file types to be indexed (for example you can tell it to only index MSWord or Text documents). While indexing provides super-fast access to your documents, the indexing process itself is normally slow, however the incremental design of the UltraFind Text Indexer means it does not need to re-index files, instead it only indexes new or updated documents, making keeping your indexes up-to-date simple and fast.
