  Configuring Outlook 2002

Due to the way the SMTP is set up to prevent open relay, normally Outlook 2002's "Test Account Settings" feature won't work. The steps below will help in setting the proper configurations to make it work.

Our SMTP server is configured so that it will only relay/work for "authorized" people. To be authorized, you simply need to first login to the POP server before you use the SMTP server. Once you have logged in to the POP server, your IP Address will be cached for a certain amount of time, during which you can send emails using our SMTP server.

Outlook 2002 has a special settings that helps you do this.

It is done by going to the E-mail Accounts -> Select the Account -> Change -> More Settings -> Outgoing Server
Then click on "My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication"
then select/tick on Logon to my incoming mail server before sending mail.
